What Are PPI Claims?

PPI or Payment Protection Insurance is a product that was invariably added to loans and credit cards, without following the proper procedure. Further more in the case of secured loans the PPI protection was sold with a lump sum premium that was added to the loan amount borrowed. This meant that the cover was in place for the first 5 years of your loan, yet you were paying interest on the premium for the duration of the loan. In the case of secured loans this may have been for as long as 25 years. The Financial Services Authority started to investigate this practice some two years ago and made it illegal to sell insurance policies of this kind. PPI claims are claims that are made against your loans or credit card provider, for selling you a product that did not fit your needs, that was not explained in detail when sold, or that was added to your loan as a lump sum premium.
